Idealo API

idealo is a price comparison portal founded in Berlin in 2000. It has an average reach of around 18 million visitors per month (as of March 2020). In addition to Germany, idealo is active in France, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom.

You can list products on idealo in two ways:

• Reference to your store: If a customer is interested in your offer, he will be redirected to your store and you will pay a fee for the click (CPC).
• Purchase on idealo platform: Customers can buy the items directly on the idealo platform. You are still the seller and responsible for processing the purchase.

If you direct the traffic to your store, you have the chance that customers will add more items to their shopping cart and order more - however, by far not every referred visitor will actually complete the purchase. If the customer buys directly on idealo, you can be sure that you only pay a commission if the customer actually buys.

Preconditions

Here's what you need to get listed:

• An own online store with shopping cart
• The products must be described in the respective national language
• You have to fulfill the legal requirements, e.g. imprint, right of withdrawal, prices incl. VAT.
• No listing of firearms, e-cigarettes, drugs and inciting articles.

Steps to get listed on idealo

So that idealo knows your products, you need a product data feed. This is a URL where idealo can retrieve your products.

• Provide products as data feed

This is how you create the data feed:

• Import your products into heavendata.com
• Make sure that you have an attribute that contains the URL to the item page in your store.
• Create a new sales channel "idealo" under "Channels
• Pass the URL to idealo
